The Iraqi Meteorological Organization and Seismology said in a statement that its seismic observatories recorded an earthquake in Sulaymaniyah Governorate at exactly 3:58 am local time, and its magnitude reached 3.6.
Despite the fact that citizens in the region did not feel the tremors, the government statement called on citizens to exercise caution, to avoid spreading rumors and false news. It also called on citizens to adhere to the seismic recommendations issued by the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring.
